Yellowstone National Park is often called the Serengeti of North America—and for good reason. Wildlife is everywhere: bears, wolves, elk, bison, and more. But on this trip, I made a point to focus on the landscapes. One evening, after a thunderstorm rolled through, I stopped to photograph a sweeping panorama of a horseshoe bend glowing in the sunset. As I stood by the roadside with my camera, a few cars slowed down, curious. One man leaned out his window and called, “What do you see?” I pointed toward the horizon and said, “The sunset.” He sped off without hesitation—probably hoping to spot a grizzly. Moments like this remind me that while wildlife gets the spotlight, the land itself holds its own quiet magic.
