This blog post will be light on words.
I have been to Yosemite many times and photographed the iconic subjects over and over again. I often give myself assignments on a photo trips so I thought on this one, I would focus on subjects that aren't as prominent in the Yosemite landscape. Both Glacier Point road and Tioga Pass were closed due to snow, so all of these photos were taken within the valley. I couldn't help but sneak in a few famous landmarks, but I tried to shoot them in a different way than usual.

Lower Yosemite FallsLower Yosemite Falls. This is challenging to shoot because of the wind and spray. I had to clean my lens then quickly shot to get a shot without water spots on the lens. It took a few tries. |

Black songbirdThis song bird continued to puff up and sing to me, but I think he realized I wasn't available and eventually moved on to a more suitable mate. |

Light trail on bridgeI used my headlamp to add a light trail to this bridge shot. It looks bright, but this was taken about 30 minutes before sunrise. |
