Hummingbirds may be my favorite of all the birds. There are over 360 species of hummingbirds varying in size and color - but all move so fast that you may not have a chance to truly appreciate their beautiful feathers. This is a Green-crowned Brilliant Hummingbird, found in the more tropical climates of Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, and Panama. I had the pleasure of watching and photographing this species in the Poas Volcano National Park in Cost Rica. It wasn't until I was home and able to see the photos on my screen that I was able to see the vibrance of his/her feathers. What a beautiful bird!
