White-breasted Nuthatch
This White-breasted Nuthatch was catching insects and grubs and bringing them back to his nest one morning. These are small, fast moving birds, but he accommodated my curiosity for a brief moment before he moved on to hunt for more food. They get their unique name from their practice of jamming nuts and acorns into tree bark then hitting them with their sharp bill to "hatch" out the seed from inside.
