Ring-billed Gull
The gull is a truly underappreciated bird. This is a ring-billed gull which is difficult to tell since he is playing peekaboo during his fly by. Although they can be seen as nuisance birds, they are scavengers that help consume food that would otherwise go to waste. After the salmon spawning season along the river, these birds hang out to feed on the carcasses. If you are keen on doing bird photography, they are quite cooperative subjects and fly at a slower rate of speed, making them perfect birds to practice your 'birds in flight' skills. Just make sure you don't make a habit of standing directly under them in case they decide to drop a 'bomb'.
